Did I Mention My Shoes???

Yes ladies and gents, I found my shoes! It only took 4 months and endless hours of searching the web and stalking the local stores to finally decide.

I started off wanting these bad girls...

But that was when we had two incomes and had time to save. Plus, I wasn't thinking how I was only 2.5 inches shorter than the Mister. These shoes would put me 2 inches taller than him.

So I moved on.

~sigh~

I wanted frilly, pink, less than 3 inches and under $100. Easy right? Not. At. All.

I searched Endless.com, Zappos.com, Macy's, Nordstroms, Neimans, Dillards, Pepperlime, Anthroplogy, Amazon... EVERYWHERE! Nothing. Not a single thing. I was tempted to do dyeables but I heard stories of the color running off and I couldn't chance that.

So I went back to NinaShoes.com (for the millionth time) and saw "Design Your Own Shoes"... hmmm.

I thought "what does this mean?" So I decided to start building a shoe. To my surprise, a custom shoe - in the color I wanted, with the heel I needed and with frilly touches I dreamed of, was only $40 over budget and my search would be D.O.N.E.

SOLD!!

SO $140 later, these are my shoes...

Yes! I know, too cute. I am sure I will name them the moment I can try them on. And if they don't fit, I can return them with no problem.

So I settled but it was a good settle. It was worth it and I am more than happy with these pretty pumps.

Did you have to settle on some wedding details?

"Your Colors and Pink and Pink"

Okay, it's time to get down to business.

When we FINALLY ordered the girls' dresses, our colors were set and there was no turning back. Well, that was until I realized "linen" wasn't exactly what I was looking for.

My dress is ivory and frost. The "frost" is like a silvery white and linen has a brown tone. But "frost" is a bit too much silver for my liking. So I am changing "linen" to "sugar". "Sugar" will add that hint of silver iridescence.

So technically, cream is cream is cream. But in the wedding world, cream is cream, frost is frost and sugar is sugar and all are different!

Do you make tone-tweaks to your color scheme?

I Told You So

I know myself too well.

With four months until W-day, you would think I would be set on the theme of our wedding a while ago. But nope, it wasn't until last month that I committed to our colors and theme.

At first, I was going for a "vintage garden at twilight" theme but the more I look at my dress, the more I realize that vintage garden is just too casual.

So I ditched the garden theme and went with "timeless at twilight." Now, again, I don't know what that really means but I know it embodies the classic elements that I love with the romance of low-lights and candle glow I swoon over.

So, with a touch of this...

A bit of this...

And a dash of that...

It's all finally coming together!

Pewter, blush, sage and linen, meet "timeless at twilight." Now everyone get along!

How many times did you change your wedding colors and themes? This was my third and final.

I'm Baaaack!

Hi Everyone!
Long time no updates. Let me first say that my much-needed break was wonderful! I was overwhelmed and losing focus of what was really important; The Mister, my career, our living situation.

BIG steps have been made in all sectors of my life. First, the Mister and I bought our FIST HOME!!!

Ahh... Chèz Très Chic. It's in the city we fell in love in and will be the first home our children will know. No, we aren't expecting! But it won't be long till the pitter-patter of little feet will fill the quiet hallways of our house.

Second big step is my career.

I have refocus and re energized what was my stagnate search. I have a HUGE second interview this week. I am feel more positive and ready to give this hunt another try. But I hope this week will go well and I will get my current dream job!

Okay, and now what we all have been waiting for... Our Wedding!

Uh-ha, it's 4 months out and yes, I did switch the colors one more time :)

The girls got their dresses a few weeks ago. The 2 BMs went with a dark grey, full length, strapless satin dress with a corset back.

The MOH went with a dark grey, full length, A-line satin dress with off-the-shoulder straps and a scoop neck. They look AMAZING against my dress and with the blush, sage and linen colors we are going for.

So with the wedding quickly approaching, there is SO much more to share! I did some projects, made some purchases and finalized many details (FINALLY).

I can't wait to share it all with you!

Stay tuned...
